Since 2014, LAW SCHOOL... Yes We Can has been committed to social justice and providing educational, financial, and mentoring support to diverse low-income college students who aspire to go to law school, most of whom are first generation college students, and many of whom are first generation high school students. Since then, LSYWC has grown from a volunteer only organization to a financially viable program with dedicated staff. This success has been made possible because of the generosity of the Denver legal community, including the numerous Federal, State, and Local Judges who support our program. With the vision of Judge Arguello, our Board of Directors, and our team, our program has grown in size and scope. LSYWC's partnership with the Denver Law Firm Coalition for Equity & Inclusion that will provide financial and in-kind support to our program for five years. We are extremely grateful to the Coalition for the extraordinary support, and we encourage other law firms and corporate law departments to join the Coalition's efforts, so that, together, we can ensure the financial viability of our program for the long term.

The legal profession is one of the least diverse in the country. In 2020, the five largest Denver-based law firms launched the Denver Law Firm Coalition for Equity & Inclusion to advance diversity in Denver’s legal community.

The Coalition engages with corporate law departments, government, and the judiciary in Colorado to help diverse lawyers from all backgrounds and experiences make and build meaningful connections and networks.

We want every lawyer to see multiple paths to success—in Denver.

Through the Denver Law Firm Coalition for Equity & Inclusion, the five largest law firms in Denver, Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, Davis Graham, Holland & Hart, Taft, and Wheeler Trigg O'Donnell, joined together to make a $125,000.00 commitment to LAW SCHOOL... Yes We Can (LSYWC), the first law school pipeline program of its kind in Colorado that targets high-achieving college students from diverse backgrounds and experiences, and mentors and trains them.

As part of a five-year commitment made in the Fall of 2021, each firm makes an annual $5,000.00 cash contribution to the organization. In addition, each of the Coalition firms provides an annual paid internship for a LSYWC Fellow and additional mentoring and in-kind support.

Through this partnership, the Denver Law Firm Coalition for Equity & Inclusion aims to provide financial stability for LSYWC, an important program that demystifies the law school application process and gives fellows access to the legal profession and mentors to support their journey. The Denver Law Firm Coalition for Equity & Inclusion hopes to be a catalyst for others within the community to match or exceed its efforts.
